Culinary Escapes is the creation of Detroit local, Ann Wilson. Returning to the Detroit area after several years away, Ann searched for a way to reacclimate herself to the city and surrounding areas. She found the best way is learning about an area is through meeting the everyday people who give an area its vitality. Having a family history of entrepreneurship, Ann started Culinary Escapes in 2008. Her goal: promote metro Detroit and Michigan small businesses. Her method: provide personal experiences of Detroit area cities and towns with the backdrop of food. She now guides locals and visitors along the streets of southeastern Michigan, sampling area cuisines, meeting local producers and independent eatery owners.

I truly enjoyed myself. I was a little apprehensive at first because I attended the tour solo. By the end of the tour, I felt that I was a part of a group.
